We love to trail ride on our Paso Finos. Even though it's hot and buggy in the summertime in Florida, we still get out regularly. Been using these cool fly wisks we picked up at Ruff's Tack Shop and Saddlery in Umatilla. Took less than a minute to aclimate the horses to the wisk motion to ward off flies and mosquitos, and wow, it's made the difference between riding and not riding. Our boys get almost uncontrollable when the bugs are bad, and with these wisks, we can reach all over their bodies to deter the flies as we're riding. Fly sprays slough off when the horses get really sweaty, leaving little or no protection. This product has been indispensable!

also if you rub poop on the horses back and your body its a more natural fly repellant hahaha (just dont invite friends to go trail riding with you or else they may choose a different trail than you)

Yeah that would be a great fly repellent - for everyone else - because all the flies would be on you instead of them. Brilliant!!
